- The 2009 World Junior Curling Championship in Vancouver, B.C., Canada serves as test event for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in the same venue. The system of play is almost the same as during the Olympic Games: 10 teams for each gender, Round Robin, Page Play-off system (1 vs. 2 and 3 vs. 4), Semifinal, Bronze medal game and Gold medal Game. There are 4 sheets of ice.
