  • Men: CAN v DEN play in the page 1v2 game (winner in the gold medal game, loser in the semifinal).
    SWE v USA play in the page 3v4 game (winner in the semifinal, loser in the bronze medal game)

  • Women: SUI v SCO play in the page 1v2 game (winner in the gold medal game, loser in the semifinal).
    CAN v RUS play in the page 3v4 game (winner in the semifinal, loser in the bronze medal game)

  • The tie-breakers between CZE, DEN and FRA only determine the top five European qualifiers for the WJCC 2010. They do not affect the final ranking of this event.
    Denmark must try to requalify at the European Junior Qualification; however, they are still ranked 8th in this event (and earn appropriate points for University Games and EYO)

  • February 8: Daylight Saving Time (DST) in Canada. Time difference to central Europe is now 8 hours.

  • The 2009 World Junior Curling Championship in Vancouver, B.C., Canada serves as test event for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in the same venue. The system of play is almost the same as during the Olympic Games: 10 teams for each gender, Round Robin, Page Play-off system (1 vs. 2 and 3 vs. 4), Semifinal, Bronze medal game and Gold medal Game. There are 4 sheets of ice.
